Abstract
Because of the variety of social and culture effect the way of
life in houses are different, especially the difference of human
activity and behavior in several areas in the houses and the difference
of several contexts of houses and users. These problems make the
physical environment in houses that design from the standard criteria of
guideline are not practical for Thai people. The objective of this
study is to define the type and size of sub-activity areas in 5 main
areas of Thai people houses, by finding the type, size and relationship
of furniture and equipemnts in sub-activity areas. And conclude them as a
house’s floor plan guideline that appropriate for Thai people. The
research method is activities comparison analysis in 40 student houses
(Interior Architecture Division, Architecture Faculty, King Mongkut’s
Institute of Technology, Ladkrabang). The students collected physical
environment, activities and behavior in their houses by observation
methods. The result of analysis is means, frequency and the value of
relationship at the high level (50% up) and moderate level (20%-49%).
The solution is the area requirements of each sub-activity areas and 5
main areas in house by use desgin programming technique to summarize. The findings indicate that the size of areas in appropriate with activities and behavior in kitchen is 7.25-15.25 sq.m., dining room is 3.33-12.73 sq.m., living area is 6.26-11.64 sq.m., family room 7.27-15.24 sq.m., bathroom or toilet is 3.20-3.96 sq.m., master bed room is 9.26-25.40 sq.m., or 11.51-31.75 sq.m., another two bed rooms are 10.13-26.49 sq.m., and 7.37-20.94 sq.m. The area requirement have concluded two sizes, for small house is 61.15-77.38 sq.m. and the appropriate size is 141.75-184.55 sq.m. There is argument on this study because the examples have not enough and the type of houses should be related with context of user and concerned in-depth behavior.
According to Stanford Medical, It is indeed the one and ONLY reason this country's women live 10 years more and weigh on average 42 lbs lighter than us.

P.S, What I said is "HOW", and not "WHAT"...
